 French President Emmanuel Macron visits Jaipur before Republic Day celebrations

French President Emmanuel Macron who arrived in India to attend Republic Day celebrations as Chief Guest reached Jaipur, also known as the pink city in Rajasthan.

French President Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited historical places and carried out a 'nagar bhraman' (Roadshow).

Both leaders visited the streets and bazaars in the pink city, of Jaipur. The locals greeted them with joy.



The French President and Indian Prime Minister enjoyed tea in 'Kulhad', an earthen pot at a roadside tea stall. PM Modi also made payment of the nominal cost of the tea by paying Rs.2 by UPI, the Unified Payment Interface. While leaving India, President Macron told PM Modi that he will always remember the 'Kulhad' tea,

This UPI payment has its own significance as the UPI, a payment system developed and implemented by the Reserve Bank of India within the country, is now ready to be launched as a medium of payment internationally.
