A long wait of over 500 years ended on 22nd January 2024, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Shree Ram Janam Bhumi Temple at Ayodhya.  Ayodhya, a major town in the  Awadh region of Eastern Uttar Pradeshand is the birthplace of Lord Ram.

Shree Ram, the eldest son of King Dashrath is worshipped as an Avatar of Lord Vishnu. He is also known as Maryada Purushottam.

In the picture, PM Modi is seen offering puja to Lord Ram. Shri Mohan Bhagwat Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS), Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Yogi Aditya Nath were also present on this auspicious occasion.

The temple could be possible after a prolonged litigation in different courts for over 65 years. It was only in 2019, when India's Supreme Court, in its landmark and historical judgment decided in favor of Hindus, and a major hurdle in temple construction was cleared.

Since the Pran Pratshtha has taken place, millions of devotees are visiting Ayodhya every day. The Governments of India and the State Government of Uttar Pradesh have taken several steps to promote Ayodhya as a prominent religious destination.

An international Airport at Ayodhya and a new Railway station are constructed to connect Ayodhya Dham with the rest of the world.
